Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
It features a 120 volt AC pump with safety certifications and listings by UL and CSA. It is recommended for Intex 24' Easy Set, Frame Set pools, Ellipse Oval pools, Rectangular Frame pools and similar sized pools from other manufacturers. Hosing is 1.5" ID, inside diameter. Hardware stores will carry plumbing adapters that will allow you to use this pump with pools that have hook-ups with a larger or smaller inside diameter. Installation is very easy - just hook-up the hoses and plug the pump into a 110 to 120 volt outlet. The pump is double insulated for safety and long life. Pump features an air release valve for air trapped inside the filter chamber. Pump has a sediment flush valve at the bottom of the filter chamber for easier maintenance.

5 out of 5 stars upgrade   September 4, 2010

I was going to purchase an exact replacement pump, the 1500 gpm, but for the price decided to upgrade to the more powerful 2500 gpm. WOW what a difference especially for the vaccume attachment. spend a few more $$ and you will be happier, dont forget the filters. also the pump came with 2 new open/close valves which was great.

3 out of 5 stars My experience with intex 633 pump   August 29, 2010

I bought an Intex metal frame pool that originally came with a 1000 gph pump. I noticed that the pool started to have more and more floating matter in it and my attempts to manually skim them out was failing. I noticed the pump didn't have much power and the pool skimmer didn't skim well so I decided to upgrade the pump. I purchased the largest one rated for the pool which is the 2500 gph 633t. I had to purchase adapters for it because the holes in the pool where too small, they worked well enough but I later went ahead and carefully made the holes bigger and haven't had any trouble. I got the pump and put it all together and it pumped like a champ. The skimmer barely kept up with the pump. But after a couple weeks with this pump I discovered some things. First the pump is water resistant not water proof. If you get it excessively wet the timer on the pump will burn out. Also I have discovered that the Intex filter cartridges clog fast and need constant cleaning. You must clean it well or your pump flow will go down to a trickle. If your pool is in need of a cleaning the cartridge can clog within hours. Once I get my pool to as clean as it was when I first filled it with water I am hoping it will last at least a week without cleaning the cartridge other wise I will look for a sand filter.

5 out of 5 stars 2500 gallon filter pump   August 29, 2010

Incredible flow, almost too much for 15 ft round intek with small pool ports. It came with larger adapters for pool inlet and outlet which are required to get most efficient use of pump. These adapters must be installed with no water in pool. Great buy, great price, fast delivery.

1 out of 5 stars loses suction after 2 days   August 17, 2010

Our 18 ft intex pool came with the 1500 pump & we soon replaced it with this 2500 pump (for $99 through Amazon). After we received the pump, we installed it & it worked awesome for 48 hours. It lost suction almost completely & no matter what we did, it wouldnt get any better. We called intex & they replaced it with a new one. The new one took 2 weeks to get. After hooking up the new one, it again worked great for 48 hours. It has lost suction AGAIN. We are stuck having to call intex again & hopefully they will work with us. Now its almost the end of the summer & the kids cant get back in the pool until we get this resolved. It's 110 degrees here & we are all frustrated. DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 out of 5 stars Intex doesn't support their products after they have your $$$   August 14, 2010

On 5/27/10 I purchased the 18'x52" Intex Ultra Frame Above Ground Pool. We set up the pool in June and after running the pump for a few days, the timer feature stopped working and a hose was leaking. On 6/10/10 I faxed over my proof of purchase. On 6/23/10 we received a replacement pump and hose. The hose was fine, but the timer feature didn't work on the replacement pump Intex sent us. I immediately called customer service and was told that I had to send back the defective pump at my cost (which would be approximately $40), even though INTEX sent me a defective replacement pump to replace my originally purchased defective pump. This does not make sense to me! I asked for a supervisor, and never heard back. I called back again in late June and in early July, and each time I was told that a supervisor would contact me, but they never did. So we decided to just use the pump without the luxury of the timer feature. And now after less than 2 months of using the pump, it died! It won't start at all.

I sent Intex 2 emails and a fax to which they FINALLY responded. Unfortunately for me, Intex refuses to replace my defective pump unless I ship it back to them first; they could care less that we just spent over $500 getting their pool & pump, now they expect us to shell out another $40 to send them back their defective pump. We totally forgot about Intex and purchased a Hayward pump & filter combo.

I think every reputable store should stop carrying a product where the manufacturer does not support their products that are well within the 1 year warranty period!!!!!
