3 out of 5 stars Not good for sensitive eyes   September 1, 2010
Kevin B.
I would love to give these glasses a good rating as they are great for what they do in terms of safety and sun protection, but they have a major flaw. The way they are shaped makes for a hard time on your eyes if your have any kind of sensitivity with your vision. What I mean by this is that the shading and shape of the lenses make your eyes see too different things if you aren't looking straight ahead.

There is a vignetting "fish eye" distortion when looking to the sides that regular safety glasses don't have, and the change in the shading from left to right instead of top to bottom means one eye may be looking through a lighter part of one side that is distorted slightly while the other is looking through a darker part that is slightly distorted the opposite way. Led to immediate headaches when trying to where these glasses for more than a few minutes at a time. Some people may never notice this as a few I asked to try them out seemed to have no problem, but a few others noticed the same thing. Take your chances if you buy these, they are cheap enough to give it a shot. If you don't see the issue, then they are great, if you do they are not useable.

5 out of 5 stars Sawing Wood or HollyWood   June 20, 2010

These DeWalt Glasses are styled so well that most people ask where I purchased them and want to know if they are expensive. Honestly, I bought them for general work around my home but also found myself wearing them while filming, when the bright lights seem to drown out any sense of viewing normalcy, while driving, going shopping and anywhere else, quite frankly. Knowing they are safety glasses just adds a measure of effectiveness and confidence when wearing them. For the money, there are no better.

Good safety glasses for use around the house when doing projects indoors or out. Works well in bright sunlight.

I purchased these for working in the yard (mowing, weed whacking, etc.) since they wrap around more than my normal sunglasses. So far they've done a great job keeping stuff out of my eyes. I'll probably purchase another pair with clear glass for construction purposes. I wish they were polarized but for the price that's asking too much.
