 After a year I am still loving my Honeywell Fresh Breeze Tower August 29, 2010

A year ago I bought a Honeywell Fresh Breeze Tower on Amazon. I live in San Francisco, where homes usually don't don't need airconditioning. However, a couple of times a year, the heat is high and there are not cooling winds coming from the Atlantic. Sometimes we even get something like the Santa Ana winds - hot wind from the west. I used to just suffer through it and/or find airconditioning in a mall or move theater, waiting for nightfall to cool things down. This fan keeps me cool enough I have had friends visit when I have it on. A few of them made a B-line to the store or their computers to order one because the price, design and effectiveness are all right.

Sandoval
This item is not sold by Amazon. Make sure you read the seller return and warranty policy. It may have a 30 day return policy (you may have to pay for shipping) and after that you are stuck with the manufacturer's warranty. The manufacturer offers a 5 year warranty but you have to pay for shipping of the fan to their facility and back. Read other reviews about it.
The fan has two height settings.
Great fan. Comes with a washable filter and two height settings.
The remote is great and can reach the tower from a variety of angles.
Pulls a lot of air. I just wish it would move less air in its low setting. Also the cord is a little short.

This has been a great fan which I use at night mainly for a little white noise. The fan puts out a good deal of air, though it should be noted that the air begins to come out at approximately 1 foot high, not from the ground floor. The fan oscillation covers a large area, the remote is a life saver for nighttime use and the "air purifier" function is nice.
I would say my favorite feature is that it has a removable air filter that you can clean. I have dogs and this is a necessity. I tend to take it off and clean it every two weeks.
The downside: after 9 months of nightly use the fan blades have stopped spinning. I turn it on, and only hear a loud hum as if the motor is trying but the blades just won't spin. When I take off the back and manually move the blades they are tight and hard to move. I have used air cans and done my regular cleaning but cannot figure out what is going on. It is still under manufacturer warranty so I will get it repaired.
I still recommend this fan to anyone who doesn't have space for a large floor fan.

It is a little expensive,but very worth the money. Simple setup and simple instruction and blows like as if you had an Air Conditioner in your room. That us why I brought 3 if them. Would buy them again.
Quiet and Effective August 10, 2010

At higher speeds it is the quietest fan I have owned. I have used all of the options successfully. Reading the manual is a must. Some features are combined, and the process of accessing them and in the combination wanted requires knowing which button controls to use and where in the toggling sequence, the combinations are. It is easy and unobtrusive to carry from room to room, and in my case upstairs and downstairs. When I get chilled from having the fan blowing on me directly, I have the choice of oscillating the fan or using the breeze function. I found the breeze function on high to be annoying because the sound of the fan motor rising and falling was like a motor unceasingly revving . On the low speeds, it was less obvious. Still, I have been very pleased with this purchase. However, only a four because it is made of plastic, which makes it seem cheap, the breeze function which could have a more erratic pattern to diminish the revving experience and maybe having one more control buttons to separate out some features to make toggling through the options a little less demanding.
